Bashkirtseva Maria K. (1860-1884) – Russian artist. Born in with. Gavrontsy, Poltava province. Came from an aristocratic and wealthy family. With ten years of pain Maria Bashkirtseva lived permanently in France, in Nice. Studied with F. Benz in Nice, in VA Kotabinskogo in Rome. In 1877 she attended the Academy of R. Julien in Paris. In 1879, she received a gold medal at the competition of student work and since then regularly exhibited his paintings, invariably met with warm reviews of French newspapers and magazines. Maria Bashkirtseva was member of the French Union of painters and sculptors, and since 1881 a regular participant of exhibitions of the Paris Salon. Maria Bashkirtseva died in Paris at age 24.
